In the portrait of the Sao Paulo view on Friday, August 3, 2007, an undeniable difference between the local resident, the viewer/voyeur and the ownership of a shared physical experience became the underlying dynamics within an undetectable encounter.

The installation moved the participant and the media in and out of the physical reality of the space, pulling the perception of self from the virtual space of the cinematic vision to the juxtaposed multi-planed expansion of the media.

In the three-channel installation, the central view replaced space with time as the distance between the viewer/voyeur and the citizen “actor” was revealed. The unknowing citizen became an icon of surveillance and security, isolated and physically dissected through the space establishing a three-dimensional relationship with the viewer.
