The title, .03854, derives from the fraction of a second it takes light to travel from Beijing to Atlanta. While conceptually introducing the viewer to a more abstract self-image, media interactions highlight the elemental breakdown of each moment, person, and place during simultaneous exhibitions. An evening video journey through Beijing refracts off of the reflective sculpture terrain to simplify the image to pure time, light, and motion. The experiential installation presents new perceptions in time and space relationships through virtual mechanisms.
